Ping from the left front wheel
I have read a lot of posts about checking the u-joint, the wheel, brakes, and so forth but have no luck so far. I have a 2009 Ram 3500 with only 34K on it, but just 2 months out of warantee. It has a 'ping' relative to road speed between 20-30MPH coming from the left front wheel. It doesn't start until at least a mile down the road, is intermittent but more consistent as you drive more. It goes away anytime you engage four wheel drive. I have raised the front end, and I can hear a slight ping with each revoultion of the left front wheel. The hub cap is clear, the tire good, no issue with the brake caliper or pads. I cannot wiggle the wheel at all, nor the cv joint. Everything appears tight. My only suspect is the hub, but not sure how to proceed. No change with turning the wheel. Seems to be more evident when coasting, sometimes applying a little acceleration will silence it. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks.

The ujoint proved to be the culprit. Seal busted, and all the pins gone inside. 34K and 3 years, time to stop outsourcing or what? Wake up America before nothing is left.

Glad you found the problem. The new part probably came from China. It's a good thing Toyota doesn't sell a diesel pickup in this country or Dodge trucks would go out of business. From what I have seen the quality on basic parts is poor. Only the Cummins engine seems to have real reliability.
