Ok, got mine!
Sold my F-550 on Wednesday , started calling all the local dealers for a price to order me a 2007 Ram 3500 SLT Quad cab, cab & chassis, 4X4, 6.7L Cummins w/ 6-speed Aisin. Dealer in Tacoma had one on the lot with everything I wanted, except the rear sliding window. This is the first Dodge with the 6.7 and Aisin I’ve driven, only because everything in this area setting on the lots is a manual transmission. Ok don’t think I’m sucking up here or anything , but before I got this truck out of the lot I could tell it was superior to the F-550 . Once I made my deal, and got it out on the freeway heading home, oh my God! This thing will eat that F-550’s lunch.
Next quest is to decided which flatbed to put on it!

Welcome to the club. You will like it. I just get in mine and drive, everything works as advertised. Will be loading up 100 jts of 2 3/8 tubing at noon and be taking it for about a 180 mile ride. Pretty much an everyday occurance for me and my truck.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes, and the welcome to the Dodge brotherhood!
Got the wife’s approval yesterday, she took it for a short drive. Just loves it. Now get this, my wife as driven school bus for 30-years, she hated that F-550 from the day the kid drove it around to the sales office at the dealer’s. Hardly would ever drive it. Every time she got in it with me, I’d hear “I wish we got the extra cab, you should have bought the extra cab!!!!!!!” Am I the only one whose wife does that?
This is the flatbed I’m leaning towards buying. I belong to 3 or 4 welding forums, the guys in the know suggest the extruded floor / deck. As pictured with a gooseneck hitch door I was quoted 2,565.00 $’s. What ever I buy, if I see a weak area I’ll beef it up my self. With the price of aluminum in this area I can’t not build one for this price!
