Oil filter change

I have 3650 miles on my 2007.5 3500. Although it calls for oil changes every 7500 miles. I am thinking of changing out the filter and topping of the oil.
Would this be beneficial?

Thanks, Clint

Have 3 gallons of oil on hand when you change out the filter; I'll bet you'll want to get that very nasty oil out ASAP after you see how black it really is. I know.....you can't always "look" at the oil and know for sure if it's bad, but with the multiple injection events and EGR on the 6.7L's, it needs a good oil change more frequently than the 325/610's or the 305/555's. Don't screw up your $40k + investment by not dropping another $30 to $35 in a quality engine oil.

Added warranty

Have the extended warranty dealership does the oil changes. Told me needed a change at 3000 miles break in oil. And follow normal changes after that. By the way change oil light comes on just before 5000 miles. easy to reset instructions in owners manual.
Dealership also put oil change sticker in window shows next change 3000 miles after this one. dealership is paying for oil so it will go in then also.
