Oil filter
Aftermarket filter should be fine as far as your warranty is concerned. Personally, I'd stay away from Fram. I use Fleetguard stratapore filters. You can get them online from Geno's Garage. The Mopar OEM filters aren't too expensive either if you want to use them.
Filter is the same and in the same location as the 5.9L engine. Just unscrew and drop straight down. Be careful to keep it from tipping as it is full of oil. Some people use a large plastic bag around the filter when they drop it to catch any spillage.

Too bad you have high school drop outs working in your dealership up there. The techs who worked on my truck are in their 40's and 50's with experience...and they will talk with the customers. They aren't jiffylube!
I do the oil, filter, fuel filter and it takes me around 1/2 hour to do it myself in my driveway, make sure you fill the new filter with oil app. 1 lit, or 1 quart before installing it, cycle the key twice to fill new fuel filter and a way she goes, then I always check to make sure theres no leaks, Ive never taken my 06 to the dealer yet, even changed the rear diff oil myself, its pretty easy to do.
