Just got it the other day. Stopped that stumble/shift/hicckup problem when on the highway. Don't know if it helped anything else...

Did you have to pay for the new flash or just tell the dealer to upgrade

I got the lastest flash last week as well. The truck was blowing black smoke, and shut off . I got it started and nursed it to a dealer. They did a regen and a reflash. That's the 5th time .it works great for a few weeks then it starts with the smoke. I'm wondering if the DPF is over taxed by soot ?
There must be an underlying reason why it blows so much black smoke, I'm wondering if it's over fueling when it does a regen ?? Perhaps a defective injector ?
any thoughts ???

Sounds to me like a cracked DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). There should be no soot getting through that filter.

I was having stumbling issues sometimes while on the highway after my AV flash so I took the truck in and they did the AY flash. Didn't help so they told me that Dodge was going to issue a new flash soon. About a week later the dealer called me and wanted to flash my truck again. So now I have the AZ flash and the stumbling issue is gone.

I didn't pay anything for the updated flashes, it's warranty stuff.

they will only flash for FREE if it is still under warranty unless the flash is a recall (after warranty is expired)

I get the stumbling feeling with the G56 tranny under very light throttle. Any ideas what causes this???

The service guys at my dealer said it was a problem with the programing on one of the flashes. This last one (AZ) fixed this problem for me. I would get your trucks program updated if you have the light throttle stumble.

I'm picking up a new 07 tomorrow. I told them to get the truck flashed before I pick it up. Hope that was a good idea. Truck has 29mi on it.

I have the AX flash and haven't had any problems. Mileage is pretty good too. I am a little gun-shy about getting a flash while not having any problems. I think I will ride the AX flash for another year.

I believe that the troubles with my truck lay in a spiratic fuel delivery problem.
This causes excessive black smoke from time to time. the result of this is that the DPF is not able to cope with all the soot and sometimes plugs, other times it is able to clean on an active regen.
The real problem is that I can't get Dodge to look beyond the DPF system.
anyone know of a 6.7 blowing a ton of smoke??????
