UH OH!! Problems with the 68re?? You can't leave us hangin' - what was the problem - what do you mean that it died??

About the back-ordered parts. Doesn't really mean that they're having problems. Every part that I've needed that was just a little out of the ordinary or a little too early for wearing out has been back-ordered. I don't think they have enough stock when they release the models. With each new truck that I have bought and since I rack up the miles pretty fast, it seems if a replacement part is specific to the new model it is back-ordered when I need it. Or the replacement part is half-way across the country and takes an additional day to get it shipped cause nobody has it locally.

It was working perfect for the last 66,ooo miles. Then yesterday morning it would not pull out of the yard ( trailer on ) I dropped the trailer, then it would move but not well. The dealer suggested I limp on in ( 5 miles), so I did.
When they dropped the pan, the burnt smell was strong enough that some staff came out of the office to see what was on fire !
They are trying to get either the parts to rebuild it or a replacment, but all parts are b/o.
Parts system showed a requirment of 5 per week ( Chrysler Canada), non availible.
Today the tranny will be removed and disassembled, I'll post the finding.
Tech suspects that it had low line pressure, why is the ?????
What a pain in the A$$ this is !!!
I'll have to drive an '06 next week, could be worse.

Tucana,
A member on another forum went through something like this with his Auto. Had it rebuilt and it went out just a few mile later again!! Turned out the pump was bad!! Maker sure they either check the pump or replace it with the updated pump. Guess there were some on the 07.5's that wern't right

Chris

They have started the tear down, but the tech was "sick" today. I'll inquire about the pump and any upgrades.
Should be fun to see how long this takes.
Hey, maybe when GM buys Chysler, I'll be able to get an Allison. LOL
thanks guys / gals
