I just bought a 2008 CC Laramie Auto after getting rid of my '00. Previous owner didn't take care of the truck, so I've already put new tires on it and done the basic overhaul and fluid changes. Just looking to get some input on what the common problems are with this year truck or the 6.7s in general. My truck is pretty stock except for a cold air intake and the tires. I put 35x12.50 bfg A/T KO2's because the last owner had 325/70s on there and they rubbed rediculously. Since its a 6 speed auto with overdrive, I've heard that I can almost surely expect the tranny to need work fairly soon (currently have 117k miles).

I've already noticed a bit of a leak from the hydroboost, but other than that nothing crazy.

Any input on what I can do for preventative maintenance for this model or what upgrades might help mileage or truck life. thanks!

Is it stock or deleted? If stock do yourself a favor and clean the egr valve and cooler before it sticks open and gives you a big reason to delete.
Did you change the trans filters when you changed the fluid?
Change the fuel filter as the 6.7 is very sensitive to dirty fuel.
Use only HOAT antifreeze for your change. Prestone make a good one.
