New 2008 Dead in the Driveway..........
For the sake of someone else who may encounter a similar situation,
I wanted to post an update:
************************************************
After driving my truck for a little over 200 miles, it acted up again on Tuesday; ran rough at idle, bucked and stuttered while driving with a MIL light and the Electronic Throttle Control light illuminated as well. This time, rather than shuting it down, I said what the heck and tried to dirve it. It was rough, but smoothed out pretty well, especially at higher rpm's. The next time I started it, the ETC light did not stay on but the MIL light did. The idle and driving were not as bad, but still not right. So I took it to the dealer.
Dealer called this morning to say that it had a P0205 (injector) and other code, but that they had isolated the problem to the valve cover gasket wiring. The connections were very loose, so they replaced it.
I am optomistic that they have actually solved the problem this time. I suspected the valve cover gasket, as I had read a very similar story through searching this site and the author of the thread PM'ed me to confirm that gasket replacement solved his problems. That poor soul had about a dozen repair attempts as I recall before they solved it. If they have truely fixed it, twice is a blessing by comparison.
I'll speak up if I have any more problems.

I'm the poor soul
George,
Glad to hear they isolated it to the wiring harness. Mine happened in July of 07 with the first symptoms at about 70 miles and then finally very bad at about 700 miles. Took them a long time to diagnose due to it being a small town dealer, and almost no familiarity with the 6.7L. A few calls to the STAR line finally helped them out.
Makes me wonder if they didn't get a batch of bad gaskets at the Cummins plant.

Well, I thank you for posting and following up with me, because you saved my bacon. They showed me the gasket and it actually had a wire completely out of the connection. They said there were a couple that were loose. Very poor workmanship on the gasket to say the least.
