More questions

What is the small flexable pipe coming the bottom of the tubro to the block near the oil pan ?

If I loosen the clamps on the tubro and Cat pipe, can I remove the elbow between the two, to drill and tap for a probe ? Or is i next to impossable to get out ?
thanks for the input

i believe that is the oil return line dumping the oil back into the pan after it goes through the turbo. i don't think its any different than on my motor but i could be wrong.

the best place for the probe is the manifold. you will get a more acurate reading for the egts. if you drill it there, you will need to keep in mind to add another 400 degrees to what your gauges says for an idea of the real exhaust temp.

Yup,

Flyoda is right, best place for it is in the collector of the manifold. If you want I can get you a pic of where mine is.

Blake: Thanks but thats not necessary I saw a good pic on one of these web sites. I'm just worried about getting metal in the turbo.

No worries. Itll just blow through. Did mine just as Edge recommended and had no adverse effects.

Mine worked fine too. drilled in increment to have small chips and used grease on the drill and tap. I drill mine while ideling the motor to make sure anything blew back out. Just used the grease for the tap. I stuck a vacuum in the area before firing it back up too.
