MC or Quad???

Since this truck will be used exclusively for towing a 5th wheel, for family vacations, with our two kids. I had been driven towards the MC, however due to the difficulty of finding a reasonably priced one, we've begun to revisit the Quad option. Granted the kids are young now, six and one, this is something we intend to keep for the next ten to fifteen years.

Hence, we're trying to determine the additional benefit offered by the MC, relative to the extra $5-$8k in price. Granted we plan on doing numerous long drives 1,500 miles plus, but I don't see more than four or five hours of seat time at the most, during a stretch. Therefore, I'm wondering what you guys have exeperienced with this type of situation?

i have ridden in the back of my quad for a 5 hour stretch. i'm 6'3" and 260. it really wasnt that bad. now i sat behind the driver (shortest buy in the truck) now i dont think i could have ridden back there with a guy my size driving.

so i guess it depends on the size and age of your kids. with a slider hitch the shortbed of the mc might not matter as much and the extra room would def. be nice.

I have kids 9 and 14. Had quad cab for five plus hour trip they were "squimry". With MC and rear DVD, I don't even know they are there. My wife and I can ride and talk or she can recline her seat back and snooze without upsetting the backseaters. If you have kids, I highly recommend the MC.

The Mega is the limo of trucks for sure. There are no shouts for shotgun from my teenagers as they have all the room they need in the back.

Your only complaint is the short bed on the truck will require a good auto slider hitch.

I love my Mega and really only have one gripe other than the crappy mileage with the 6.7. (For now ) I wish that when you folded the rearseats down that they went further down. There is so much room back there and if the seats went down another 6" or so it would be truly amazing how much stuff you could get back there. Stow and go would be awesome........
