In The Market for a 6.7
ok,now I wish that everyone would understand the way Cummins designed the new 6.7L and emissions system. This motor and emission system is designed to be worked up hill and run the EB all the way down. YOU GUYS NEED TO USE YOUR TRUCK LIKE IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE!!!. I have worked my truck hard everyday since day 1 and I have not had a single problem. With 80,000km on my 5000 and 40,000k on my 4500. Don't believe me, read the latest TDR where they interview Cummins engineers.
I bought my truck for the sole purpose of towing a 28' cargo trailer ( 9000 lbs) , and it has done so for almost all of its 101,000kms ( 60,000 miles).
It has had the DPF replaced once and is currently sitting at the dealers for the last 3 WEEKS waiting for parts ( another DPF) .
I'm not convinced that working it hard makes as much differance as some suggest. I do beleive that the sensors and pressure switch are the real problems.
At the end of the day, I don't care what the problem is , the fact that my business has been without the truck for 3 weeks is totally unacceptable. I feel completely let down by chrysler
I see my current options as getting rid of:
the DPF & related Equipment

the 6.7L ( find a 5.9L)

a Dodge all together.

good luck with yours
Well got my truck back, after it spent 3 weeks at the dealer ( the dealer where it was towed to, 75 miles from home). WHEN they finally got some parts they had it back together and running as good as ever in a few hours.
Worked fine on the drive home, wonder how long that will last ???

Thats a chance that a lot of people are willing to take!, The truck will run a lot better if you do the DPF delete and you will save a lot at the pumps!

to clean out the soot is the only drawback I have with the truck.
