LSD vs. ULSD 6.7

OOPS!! Just filled up and noticed that I put 28 gallons of LSD in my 07, 6.7. Should I drain it out or will it be O.K??????

you should be okay from what i heard but not for sure on that. They said you will just go in regen more often if you run lsd instead ulsd.

Not sure unless you used off road diesel that anyone here in the states is still selling LSD. Think/hope that the station just hasen't changed their signage yet.
Thought all had to be selling ULSD by or about the first of the year. If you are out of the states, then it's a different story.

I may be wrong, but I thought just a single tankful of LSD (500 ppm) diesel will completely clog the DPF. I'd syphon as much out as possible into some containers and fill up with ULSD. Don't mess up the DPF.....it's expensive!

I've seen several places that still sell LSD as some sall refineries got the OK to still make it and it is legal to sell for on road use until 2010 so long as 80% of all diesel made is ULSD. As for using LSD in a 6.7 engine if Dodge caught you they would void your DPF warranty and maybe other parts too.

Most of the truck stops in the southeast had LSD last I was there in April.
So yes, someone in the states is still selling it.

WARNING if you have any kind of problem with the truck and take it to a dealer for warranty work and they test the fuel and it comes back higher than 15 ppm sulfer rating they Will void your warranty. The computer is also recording how many time the system regen itself if to many times they will test fuel

I don't see how they could hold that against you warranty wise if it was accidental one time thing or an emergency situation where your choices are pump LSD into the tank or run out. It would be different if there wasn't such a hodgepodge patchwork of LSD/ULSD fuels being sold everywhere. Dodge would not win that fight..

Driveing along I80 from PA to IN today and found it hard to find ULSD on the ohio toll road or the Indina toll road. I had to get off the tolls to get ULSD. I did start to fill with lsd but cought my self after about 5 gallons and I did not notice any differance so i think one tank will be ok.

My dad has 6800kms on his new 6.7L only uses LSD cuz we dont have ULSD fuel up here in the north country yet. Only Cheveron has it But thats 5 hours away from us. his 6.7L has gone thru one regen so far and no problems. Cummins told him LSD will be fine.

I dont think the new engines would have bin released if they could only be run on ULSD. Cuz 90% of the pumps dont have ULSD yet.

Thats great to hear. I've been a little nervous about not being able to readily find ULSD when I'm out on some of my excursions. At least I know that I'll be able to get home on LSD is needed.
