looking at a 07.5, need some advice
I'm looking at a 07.5, 4x4. 2500, auto and with 60k on the clock. Very clean truck. Need some advice. My 2 side businesses are almost 100% city driving, but I do tow a heavy dump trailer on about 20% of the jobs. Lots of start ups and shut downs and not much highway. With the 6.7, will I be in a world of heartache (emissions wise) if I make the jump and get rid of my 2000? I love the 6 speed auto w/engine brake and the 6.7 pulls hard compared to my 2000. Plus the 6 speed seems SO MUCH better than the auto I have.
Are all the 6.7's the same, regarding the flashes and motors? As in a 09 would be the same as a 07.5?
I do love how the 2000 sounds and runs and it feels like you're driving a real truck. The biggest thing is the 2000 is paid for and costs me nothing but I'm not 100% confident it will not leave me stranded. Lately its been nickle and diming me. The 6.7 seems much more refined.
We do not have emissions testing here so the dpf delete is an option.

Mine seems to go into regen very frequently if I'm just driving it and not working it. Short trips and frequent stops and starts probably won't allow it to complete the regens. That may become an issue. You already have the answer if that does become a problem.

I've never had an issue with mine. I drive 6 miles to work and back 5 days a week. Lots of other trips to the store, etc are only a couple of miles, the in-laws live two miles away. Never had the issue that I know a lot of people on here have

Well, it does not look like it really matters, the dealership removes to budge on their posted price and will only give me 10,800 for mine. It sure is nice though, loaded with leather and heated seats, power everything. I think 34,800 is high for a truck with no bumper to bumper warranty and 60k on the clock. There are lots of other trucks out there though...

That is way too high of a price for a used truck. This is 3 year old model price should be lower.
I know when I bought my truck new in Nov of 07 for a 2008 Dodge 2500HD, I paid only $38K for a $50K truck. I would look into buying a new truck for an additional 4K instead of the used truck. May have to shop several dealers and check on line to find what you want.
Just my $0.02.

I agree with Jim W!!!!!I got my truck new last May for just 31K, they had a 7500 rebate, 2k down and I did have my Chrysler discount that was really only another 7k off the sticker, 34k for a used truck with 60k is highway robbery!!!!!
