It's here!

I picked up my 3500 last night. I had never driven a 6.7 before and I wrote the check without even taking it for a drive. LOL.

When I drove it out of the lot I spun the tires! I was thinking 'oh man is this thing got some power!'. My wife was following me and at the first traffic light we came to she got behind me. So I pulled over and waited for her to catch up. When I pulled out I got in it some and I felt the back end break loose, left a 10 foot pair of stripes on the pavement behind me!

This is by far the most power I have ever felt in any truck I've been in. My friends 5.9 that is chipped doesn't have the horsepower this new 6.7 has.

The ride is really nice for a 1 ton. Feels very easy to control and a pleasure to drive. I also can't believe how quiet it is in the cab. You can talk in a whisper to someone and it's no problem.

I haven't had much time to mess with the transmission yet. Although I can tell it has 6 speeds and it shifts perfectly without a load. The manual shift has a little delay in it but this ain't no race car. I can see it coming in really handy downshifting on a grade with the exhaust brake, can't wait to try it out with some weight on it. I'll write more after I have put some miles on it.

Nice truck. Great color. Makes me want to trade mine in, but I don't have the $$ to do that.

Congrats, I had a similar experience... I was blown away with the power compared to a stock 5.9 or even a mild chipped 5.9. Same thing with how quiet it is in the cab.

And I like the manual shift better than the Allison's. The button on the shifter is too small (I like the GM's far better) but it shifts way quicker than the Allison in manual mode.

I want one of those flashy blue 6.7 Megacabs real bad

Nice truck and congrats.

That didn't take very long at all, from when it was ordered. I ordered mine 3 days after you did and supposedly it is still two weeks away. Maybe mine will come in sooner too.

Maybe your dealer will surprise you with a phone call soon!

Man I like this truck. Just came back from a little trip that has a really steep, winding grade in it. 10 miles drops over 2000' and that exhaust brake is awesome. I used the manual shift and just dropped it down a gear every once in awhile w/ the exhaust brake on. Never had to touch the brake peddal from the top to the bottom. Of course I was empty but even so it's amazing not to have to touch the brakes on that grade.

The manual shifter really isn't a shifter. What you are doing is setting the top gear the tranny will shift to. The truck will still decide the shift point so if its not ready it will delay. More useful for towing than driving like a sports car. It expains it in the owners manual. For example if you select 4th your truck will operate in gears 1-4. Congrats on the new ride, I'm lovin mine, lots of power and like the 68rfe.

Are the 6.7's that much quieter than the CR 5.9's?

6.7 is much quieterthan the 5.9L. 3db less in the cab, about 50% quieter. Coupled with the .625 top gear of the 68RFE, which keeps the highway engine speeds down the vehicle is as quiet as a gasser at 80. Not that I would ever go 80.
