I had problems with a failed nozzle install.

Had to replace all six injectors.

Problem is you will have to have the dealer do the install because the starscan sets the codes to each injector.

But I got my injectors for $2500 with 130 HP EDM rated nozzles.

The dealer I when to is mod friendly because all the diesel techs have moded cummins.

Only charged me for the labor which was 700 bucks.

Even at some of those prices on that site seems awful lot of money for a injector.Maybe over time prices will get more reasonable. The injector failure I don't think is all that connected to filtering.I think it just wear due to design issues.10/7/5/ micron is darn awful small. Some photos of the ball and sets being pounded out show that its design more then debris.Just my 02 worth

Ya, that's for 1 injector and it's a Reman, not new. Still that's about 1/4 the cost of a new one, but I wouldn't want to spend that much for one that isn't new.

If you had the injectors replaced at the dealer, how would you be able to tell for sure that it was done? I read that the injectors were changed in '06 from 1509 to 1659? Is it possible to check the model #'s while they are installed?

Read your manual carefully. Pay close attention to the part that says, "The Cummins 100k mile warrenty starts at the end of the factory warranty." It's in there.

That's interesting. I read that a while back. Do the dealers honor it? Has anyone successfully had a claim paid over 100,000 miles?

What is printed in your owners warranty book means that you don't have to pay the $100.00 deductible for covered repairs until after the Dodge 3/36 warranty expires. Your Cummins Warranty will end once the OD reads 1/10 mile past 100,000 mile mark.

I know that first hand...its a bit vague in the owners manual. I tried to get warranty at 184,000 kilometers on my 04 and they said too bad so sad the engine warranty ended at 160,000 kilometers or 100K miles. I even had documentation of a problem...ticking and notes that said...they'd fix it if theres a problem. As soon as it turned 160,000, I was toast.

...and my search for a low mileage, decent condition 2005, 06, or early 07 5.9L Megacab continutes. If I can't find one, I think the truck in my sig. will be my last diesel.

I really feel for you guys that need a diesel. I can get away with a gasser for most situations.
