I went back to a 5.9

Well guys I had to do it. I went back to a 2007 5.9 6 speed that was brand new. they have gave a pretty good deal even lower my payment by $25 a month. I miss my straight pipe and blowing smoke with my smarty so I had to do it. I got tried of my 6.7 going in to regen all the time and got bad fuel milage. But I will say the the auto was nice.

The emission junk isn’t going to get better. I think you made the right call.

Reading all the "trips to the dealer" posts, I have to agree with DMB .. .you made the right decision.

Maybe in a few years Dodge might get it right, but with this new "Gorden Gecko" company running Chrysler I don't think quality is their goal ... this will become more evident with denial of warranty coverage on these new trucks due to bogus issues.

Good luck.

I'm curious how did you come up with Gordon Gecko? Cerberus doesn't own GEICO.

What kind of mileage were you getting on the 6.7?

How many miles did you put on it?

Thanks,

DT.

No, no, no ... I'm refering to the movie Wall Street where that guy Gordon Gecko (sp.) buys up companies and splits them up for profit (the parts are worth more than the whole), without any regaurd for their products.

13? That stinks.

With 8500 miles your mileage should be very close to being as good as it's going to get, if not already there.

I'll be in no hurry to get a 6.7.

Probably a wise decision. I was on the verge of signing on a new 6.7 and that night made the decision to go with a new 07 5.9 instead. I really am glad I made that decision. I think you will be very happy.

I tried to find a 5.9 with what I wanted and there was nothing within 300 miles of me. Got the 6.7 instead and have been perfectly happy with it.

my MPG is on par with my friend's 07 5.9 for it's break in, so I'm not complaining. I've got more power, an exhaust brake, better overhead console, better tie downs (his are plastic) and a few other little things. So I'm not complaining
