Now that is an unusual symptom. All the "soft" codes thrown by the DPF delete and EGR delete should not come back on while the vehicle is running after being cleared. Scan the truck and find out what code it was that came back on after the codes were cleared. This is likely your culprit.

I'll let you know this morning... I have a couple codes that will not go away and one is a camshaft sensor code. I am not sure how long it has been there but it has been there everytime I have checked codes which is from the time I did the deletes...

Wow, I'm gone a week or so and I miss an online burn-out competition!

I can't remember the RPM's DZ, sorry, but it does leave FOUR nice marks from the rear. I can say that none of my previous trucks would do this. I'd hold the brake and ease in on the throttle and BUHHHHHHH!!! No spinning. The '06 did after getting the Smarty on it and killing the torque mgt. All stock and EGR plugged in.

since I was on my way to mount my winter tires, I thought I'd give it a try.
I held the throttle about 1/2, with brake on, at about 1500rpm the tires started to smoke. I held it open at 2300rpm with a little brake, that held the truck from going far, while the smoke filled the mirrors. when i released the brake and floored it, it left 2 black strips that I paced at 100 ft.
The truck has tons of low end and just loves to spin.
that ended the OE tires, now it's wearing snows.
Good thing, as we got 15" of snow today and wind gusts to 55mph.
winter is here !!!!

Thanks. Since mine would do this before the deletes I am positive that they are somehow the cause of why I can't do it now. Very strange indeed.

The truck towed just fine yesterday with about a half loaded trailer (maybe 7500lb total weight) but if I left it in 6th gear w/o tow/haul then it would have to downshift when I went up any hills. I haven't towed much with the truck so I am not sure if it is normal or may be attributed to my power loss....

I only did this once so I cannot remember exactly how high my rpms got before I let off the brake and just let the truck loose. I had a Rokktech crank sensor on the truck at the time and it definitely felt like it gave me more bottom end power.
Now, once we all started talking about unplugging the EGR I just had to try it. I unplugged it and my truck ran great and I had no issues for about a week. After that week my delete kits showed up and I installed them. I immediately noticed that my truck did not seem to have that same power off the line. I tried adjusting the Rokktech but the power never truly came back although it definitely felt better with it advanced all the way.
Today I went out and tried to powerbrake the truck and the RPMs will only go to around 1800 and the truck starts missing and it will not go any higher. I pulled the Rokktech sensor off and reinstalled the stock one with no change. I'm starting to think this has something to do with doing the EGR blockoffs and I'm thinking about pulling the plates and just running with the EGR simply unplugged. The truck ran great that way!!
Finally, what I need is for someone with an auto truck but with no power adders to try and powerbrake their truck for me and let me know how your truck reacts. (How high do the rpms go before the tires start spinning? Will it break the tires loose without letting off the brake? etc...) I'd really like for someone without the EGR deletes to do it and also someone with the EGR delete to do the same so I can compare and see if it's just my truck or if it's a common issue.
I can also feel that the top end power is down too. It takes forever for the rpms to build up if I hammer the throttle. Once it hits 2500rpm then it climbs very very slowly from there.....

The truck runs just fine under normal conditions. I even pulled my trailer around sitting at around 11-12000lb and the truck did fine...

I have the constant CEL for the EGR being unplugged but when I checked for codes today it just said "DONE"

This is weird. I have only power braked three time so far. I got up to 1700 and the rear wheels broke loose and just kept going from there.

I can't tell for sure, and don't remember. Do you have a DPF delete? If so, which one? And I know you have a programmer hidden in there somewhere. . .

This all started after which delete?

How is it I missed all this?

He has an H&S Stage 2 with EGR blocker plates and no programmer of any kind. Apparently it all started after he deleted the DPF and blocked the EGR (it was unplugged for a few days prior to doing the deletes en masse). Diagnose away.

Aw heck. I didn't feel like bugging anyone over this. I really think this has something to do the the Cam sensor code I am getting ever since doing the deletes. Of course I can't take it to the dealer in it's current state. If it really starts to get to me then I will be putting it all back to stock and then going to the dealer. I have a feeling that that may happen on this four day weekend.......

Well, after pulling my EGR blockoff plates out last week I have noticed that my truck feels a bit stronger again. I tried powerbraking it again this morning and I still had the same issue. I was standing on the brake very hard and so I decided to let the pressure up a bit on the brake pedal and the tires immediately started spinning at around 1700 rpms. I'm now thinking that I was just feeling the engine derate due to the brake being applied too hard while also accelerating.
Another thing I noticed is that on a certain hill on my way to work the converter would unlock and the trans would always downshift. Ever since pulling the plates out it seems that I can make that hill without these things happening. The truck does feel a bit peppier so maybe the plates were just not for me. I don't know but I'm happy again for now.......

So, are you back to running with a functioning EGR? I found something the other day by accident that may be related. These trucks have programming to protect from an engine runaway or an operator driving with their foot on the brake. If the ECM sees throttle and brake at the same time with no variance for 2 (IIRC) seconds it will try to derate the engine by cutting fuel. If the RPM does not drop then it will throw an ETC light.

Have you tried disconnecting the batteries for an hour and letting the truck relearn your driving habits? I'm still not convinced that these trucks have the capacity to "learn" but it may be worth a shot.

I have done the battery unhook thing. In fact I did that while I was pulling the plates out.

I did not plug the EGR back in. I just pulled the block off plates out. Doing this will still allow some soot to get past the EGR valve though because now I get some smoke when I hammer the throttle. No biggie though.
