how many qts. of trans fluid?

My transmission pan was starting to seap some fluid so i decided to drop the pan to reseal it. While im down there im goig to change both filters. Does anyone know how many quarts of ATF i wll need to top it back off. Looks like I drained around 10 qts. And do you add the trans fluid trough the dipstick like most traditional cars?
Also why did Dodge make a drain plug on the transmission pan? I made ahue mess draining the fluid out of the pan.

When I did mine, it was about 6 or 7 quarts for just the draining... I guess Dodge doesn't see the value for implementing and adding in cost for drain plugs because it is not done as often as an oil change...
