How did I do?

Hey Guys I’m new here. I recently bought a 30 ft toy hauler and my 88 Ford Diesel just wasn’t cutting it up the grades. So I thought I would check out the Dodge Turbos on Sunday. I had no intention of buying just yet but I ended up walking away with a 07 6.7 4x4 mega cab diesel. I love this truck. But because I bought it with out a lot of research I want to know just how much did I over pay. The MSRP was 49,800 and the Dealer Price was 52,800. I got it for 49,300. How far off was I. Thanks for any info. Can’t wait to see how it pulls.

you didnt get the greatest deal in the world, but you will still love the truck. Mega cabs are hard to come by in my area, especially with any options. But i think you definitely could have done better unless they truly had another buyer lined up. Either way itll be a sweet truck

I love my truck. I upgraded from a 93 F250 with 7.3. I couldnt be happier. I have had no troubles out of my 6.7 and hope not to, but some ppl are having issues with the egr valve and DPF filters. Most of this has been solved by the latest flashes. Make sure you have all the newest flash versions, it will help avoid problems. Also some are complaining of very bad mileage but my truck is doing decent, 16.5mpg with only 700miles on the truck...

Im sure you will love the truck more each day! Welcome aboard

It's hard to say as we don't know what options you have... but I would not worry about it.... enjoy the truck. Use it for what it's intended for and don't look back.

Dave Smith quoted me around 12K off MSRP.....might end up spending around $1500 more with Woodhouse Dodge to cut 1000 miles off of the return trip. Difference pans out between travel costs and time off work, not to mention another 18-19 hour marathon drive that I really don't wanna make.

I'll know Monday.....I'm getting a truck from SOMEBODY next week. Can't wait, it's keeping me awake at night.

It honestly doesn't matter what you paid as long as you are happy with the truck and the deal you made! Someone's always going to get a better deal and someone's always going to pay more. There's always a top and bottom. Just enjoy the truck!

I payed 51,000 for mine but I bought what I wanted not what they had.Thats with a lot of extras. Not factory extras. But thats also sales tax and such, I guess the truck itself was a little cheaper. And it matters what discounts they got going on. 1 month after buying mine I could have got 6000 less at another dealer with there discounts.

I wouldn't mind ordering a Mega Cab with all the goodies. 6 speed manual thank you. But I'd have to wait for the '08 or '09, to get away from the more problematic model 07.5 (not that it's bad, but fact is, the '08 & '09 will be less problematic).

I will also wait for a long bed Mega Cab or no purchase will be made. However, at ~$45k or higher, that scares me. My truck was $34k in 1999, so $40k for a Mega certainly seems acceptable to me. I guess I'll be negotiating the heck out of it.

Another problem is, my 24V is one heck of a truck. Running great, looking great, *paid for*, and that makes it hard as heck to part with. Shoot.

Hate to say it, but 08's are unchanged!!!!! AND THERE IS A THING CALLED FLASHES!!!!!!!!!!! Guess you wont be getting a new truck for awhile!!!! Especially if you want one under 40. You might have to wait till 10 or 2011

P.S. everyone puts down the autos!!! I wish people would test drive the new 6 auto before they automatically basically say that autos suck. yes the 48 sucks, but 68 is major improvement and im glad as hell I didnt get the hand shaker cause it seems that alot of people are haveing problems with the g56. Thanks. Sorry, just my 2 cents

Dude, I work in the auto industry. I am a design engineer AND work at a plant. The first year model is always the most problematic. Many many MANY changes are made during the first year to be implemented before or by the SOP (start of production) of the 2nd model year. It's a fact. And model year 2 and 3 are always better. I never said the '08's or '09's would be a new truck.

Also, I didn't put down the autos. But I drive manuals, I prefer them. They are better ... to me. An auto may be better to you. I never said they suck.

I have one word for you: C O M P R E H E N S I O N.
