FYI: 6.7 Ford and 6.7 Cummins Oil filters

Just a word of caution.
The parts guy pulled a bone head move and I didn't catch it til I changed my oil again.
I asked for an oil filter for 6.7 dodge, and he must of had 6.7 ford on his brain so he sold me one for the Ford 6.7. I didn't notice.
The filters are almost the exact same size. The o-ring and treads are the same too. Hope I didn't wreck anything. Still Have good oil pressure, etc.
Runs like a champ.

Just thought Id throw that out there.

How did you figure out the filter was wrong?

Begin leaking?

I doubt it hurt anything, so as long as you didnt run it out of oil.

Filter flow designs are the same general direction. Unless Ford just had to be different and make its 6.7 filter unique and different than everyone else.

Pulled a filter off a 302 Frod that had part numbers from about 7 or 8 different filter brands. Had the Fram number for the mid-size filter for a small-block Dodge.

in the Baldwin filter brand, the part numbers are very similar.
I found it when I changed my oil and noticed the filters had different numbers and I then did a little research.
so far no harm was done.
