Question Fuel mileage question

What should I expect for fuel mileage (empty running) on a 6.7 Dually 6 spd Auto tranny with 4:10's?

I'm interested in milage on the exact same truck...

How much of that is in town?

Do you know what it would get with all freeway running around 70mph?

12k on the clock. I can usually get about 13.5 to 14.0 m.p.g. @ 70 m.p.h. empty. Also note my sig, I don't use a tailgate. Towing still sucks - between 9 and 10 m.p.g. @ same speed.
I'm changing out the fuel filter this weekend.

That's terrible mileage. Is this because of the emmisions junk? It would seem to me like the mileage should be way up with the high pressure computer controlled stuff. Has anyone removed the exhaust and inlet restrictions on a 6.7? I would be very interested what the "optimized" max mileage on a 6.7 that has been optimized....

2 less tires hitting the pavement along with the added weight & gears.

I just put 650 miles on my DRW MC 4x4 3.73 and am getting a lowsy 12-13 but that's city mostly so I'm hoping that will improve greatly with more miles. BTW RStone how many miles do you have on your 6.7?

I was driving about 60 miles mostly highway this evening and the milage went up to 15-17+ mpg when I was getting 12-13 earlier today but in the city.

I've seen 18 (Usually 16-17)at 70 0n the highway but mine takes the kids to school, grocery store etc. 80% is non highway. Holding it to the floor getting on the interstate won't help nor does dusting a gasser from a light. Take off with 4.10 is great!!!!! I know it will go way up after some heavy towing/break in. Sometimes parking a dually sucks.

Well 18 is better than 14... I might hit 20 at 65, but drops to around 18something at faster speeds, and I can see 15 or so with mixed driving (short trips around town).

I kind of expected a dually with the new emissions stuff and 4.10's would get a mile or two per gallon less...
