exhaust brake

Question, will the exhaust brake slow an emty truck on a 6 percent grade? need to know

Yes, I first tried my exhaust brake with the empty truck at various grades. It shouldn't matter what the grade is or the weight of the truck.

It depends on how fast you are going. If you're going 70 mph you bet it will. If you're only doing 25 mph not really.

you need to use the gears to slow you, the higher the RPM, the more notable the slowing power. If you are below 2000 RPM, you arent going to notice as much effect from the exhaust brake.

my prxb will slow the truck down to about 1200 rpm. the standard ebrakes need more rpm to be really effective, but the pressure reg units work longer.
