Well, I did it and I got to work safely and with no issues. My truck started and idled just fine and ran just the same as before. What I did notice is some timing rattle now which I had not heard before. I think that's why some guys are noticing more power when they do this. You may not hear the rattle if your truck is otherwise stock but I have a Rokktech crank sensor which gives me about 2 degrees of extra timing and I could feel a difference when I initially did that mod. That combined with this is enough to give me just a bit of the rattle when the truck is cold. So, I guess that in addition to the other bad things the EGR is doing that it is also retarding the timing some to help keep emissions down. My overhead is showing about 5 mpg more than it was prior so I stopped and topped the tank off and in a couple days I will see how much it has actually helped me...

And if this works then I don't know why I would go through the hassle of installing the plates...

I wonder if anyone can actually confirm that the egr plate stays closed when you unplug the connector. Wouldn't it be funny if we all did this and all it did was keep the EGR butterfly plate open 100% of the time anyways???

No smoke, lower egt's and forever to warm up are all the same results of those who have placed blocker plates.

I got zero smoke no matter how hard I drove it. I didn't really notice the engine temp this morning and I have no EGT guage so I can't comment on that... Seems good so far...

Yes I do but only because UPS is taking their time getting my delete to me. A couple guys running just like I am have had no issues in many weeks of driving it this way....

Well, I think I may have too much timing now because if I hammer it sometimes it will defuel to 2500rpms. Right before it does this I can hear the timing rattle. I'm gonna back the Rokktech off a bit and see what that does tomorrow...

Well, I just topped off after driving 92 miles with my truck like this. The best I have gotten recently was 13 mpg. Even less if I had to drive the truck hard to clean the system out. I squeezed 5.16 gallons into the tank which equates to about 17.7 mpg!! And somehow the overhead was almost dead on again! It had been reading about 1.2 mph too high but now it was showing .2 less than actual.
I just got my H&S DPF kit so I'm gonna start tackling that right now until the rain starts. Of course the muffler clamp had to be missing which seems to be the norm with the crappy box they use to ship it. My kit did not come with a pressure box like I have read some people are getting. I also don't understand why they weld bungs into the delete pipe if you aren't even using the sensors for the DPF anymore?!?!?!

Oh well, I'm gonna go change and get started...
