Efi Live

Just heard that EFI Live has in BETA black box reading for 2006 5,9's and 2007 6.7's. I'm sure tuning is around the corner.

Im happy to see that some of the members on that site recognize they may be in for some trouble. I have a friend has an 08 Duramax with EFI Live and its wicked, wonder what it can do for the Cummins and will it be as good or better than whats available for the Cummins already???

The GM software is as open as a Twitter account. You can alter anything with EFI LIve without any stops along the way.. The Cummins ECM has never been that way since 1998. Wait and see.. It took the only guy that could rewrite the ECMS a good couple years to crack the 6.7..

Thats great....but let's see them keep their engines in one piece or their trannys from melting down.

Can the EFI program be removed in five minutes on the road in the event a problem occurs like Smarty? No sarcasm intended,I just don't know enough about it.

Yes, but you can also carry a spare ECM which are cheap and just swap them if needed. Takes a couple minutes and no need for a 2nd elbow in your arm or a need to lay under your truck to get to it like a Cummins.

Dunno, perhaps they are looking at worldwide instead of US only, wasn't the 5.9 still made for places like Mexico till 09?

You could be correct. EFI Live is based in New Zealand so I'm sure they're worldwide.

That would be alot of different platforms to work with. Just the CC and passenger trucks alone are different enough for different programs.. Interesting.
