Edge Insight for 6.7l

Am I reading correctly that this thing just simply plugs into the OBDII port and that's it? Or, do you still have to drill and tap the exhaust manifold to get the EGT readings? Will it give you a reading from one of the pyros down by the DPF or will that reading be skewed once you install the DPF delete and the probes that come with it?

Just trying to figure out if I want to get one of these or just get a code clearer.....

It plugs into the OBDII port as you said. There is a second wire connection that accepts the pyro probe wire. The pyro has to be drilled into the exhaust manifold. I was reluctant to install it myself so I went to the garage I usually use and gave them the drilling instuctions that come with the probe and it cost me $50 to have them do it after I ran the wire into the cab and hooked it up.
By the way before the probe was installed you do get the re-gen info by just plugging in the wire. Overall it works well , since it's digital the numbers seem to change faster than when I used a regular gauge on my old truck.

I drilled and taped the manifold. It is very easy. If I were to do it again because I do not tow or have any added power I would just plug in the Insight. DPF probes are to far downstream to provide useful information.

Thanks men. I've installed a couple of probes in the past and it's not a big deal. If I could get a good reading without the hassle I would though...

Dodgezilla, let us know what kind of MPG you get with that insight. Also have you had any problems with your DPF/EGR delete? Thanks

The Insight is just a guage so it should not affect anything. I am still waiting on my deletes to arrive......
