What type of tires are you running? I know I have been in several bad snow storms in upstate NY as well as northern Minnesota with both my SRW truck and my DRW and with the DRW the back end slips out on me all the time, even in snow my SRW wouldn't.

I run these Ohstu's, I have had a 96 and 99 powestroke single rear wheel, and a 05 king ranch dually and it did good also.

Well that is kinda odd you have such good luck in the snow. I never really have I break loose very very easy but I guess a lot could be that I am always pulling a heavy load and it is always wanting to hold me back.

Hey I have a question about your tire and wheel setup. When you went with the larger setup what did your fuel milage do? I was thinking about going larger on my next truck but with hauling it is always about getting good fuel milage to keep up the bottom line.

To be honest I have never checked mostly because I really dont care but I will tell you at 75mph I am runin at 1900 rpm's, They perform very well when towing the stability is awesome. My dad has a stock 06 dually my 06truck has dynoed well over 600hp he borrowed it one day to pull a bobcat when I asked how he liked the first thing he said compared to his was the stability which kindoff surprised me ya know.

Same here. Slap her in 4x4, and go. And where I live here, it's up one hill, and down another. Going isn't the problem - it's STOPPING 8000 lbs when you're going downhill towards a stop sign that can get hairy.

I have a standard with the 3.73 at 2000rpm I am right around 60-63 mph. I have been told by a few guys if I go with the larger tire fuel milage will go up and my Rpm will come down due to the larger tire. Now in the city they say they have lost some but once you get that large tire rolling on the hiway it doesnt take much to keep it going!

I was just gonna say I probably wouldent get them with an auto but with your tranny you would save money just in tires alone. also i thought i had 3.73 but my buddy said i had 3.55 so really i am not positive what i have

Well thanks for all your help. I am trying to get some fuel milage numbers to see if it is worth it for me. I can get about 115k on a set of tires I rotate them like crazy and watch my pressure at ever fill up. So in tires I would do good I just want to make sure I gain some milage and dont lose any.

I think it says what gear you have on the inside of the glove box. I think thats where I seen it. Mine is like a 9000 lb sled in the snow. But got some new tires for this year so we will see. Didn't snow but once here anyways
