driving with steering shock bent
Looking for some advice. Due to a hydraulic jack busting when changing a tire, I now have a bent steering shock on my 2007 6.7 litre 2500. I was told by the dealer that the 5.9 litre and 6.7 litre both used the same steering shock unless the 6.7 had the steering linkage updated. So I've purchased the steering shock that fits both models. Waiting to get the truck in to have it replaced. Seems like all the shops are busy this time of year. The earliest I can get it in is four days. My question is, will I wreck anything (front end, tires, etc.) by driving with this bent steering shock? I need my truck to go to work (220 km round trip commute) and I'm noticing a shimmy in the front end already.
I think I would pull one end loose and work it through the stroke to make sure its not binding, if it is I would take it off till a new one comes in.
Might be a good time to update the steering linkage to the 08 style as that stabilizer is different so you would need a new one anyway.

Won't hurt anything.Like checkmate said. Mine started leaking at 55000 miles, I ordered a dual steering shock kit for mine and it made a big diffrence in handling, getting old one off was a pain. ended up beating stem out with a hammer, I figured it would pop out easy being an 08 dodge.
