DPF FULL...SEE DEALER...read on?

DPF FULL...SEE DEALER...read on?

I just got this message today when i started my truck but Ive had the Blackmaxx for almost 2 years on my truck with no problems and then all of a sudden i get a "SEE DEALER DPF FULL" on my overhead display whats up with this? how do i fix this?

I'm no expert and I don't have a newer truck, but I would say the Diesel Particulate Filter is at the end of its' life and needs to be changed.

Did it go into a re-gen?

You need to take it out and drive it hard for a few miles. Choose the gear you need to keep the rpm's in the 2800 - 3000 range.

The DPF filters along with the emission stuff is great! what you thought would be a 5 minute ride home turns into a 15 mile drive.

is the truck deleted? or are you just running the black maxx with emissions stuff still installed?

If you are running tuned and not deleted, see chaikwa's post.

If you are deleted, unprogram and reprogram.

thanks Blake,

I will go and try that...yes i have the full H&S delete on it..it actually look alot like a 5.9L haha I will go and try that. Why all of a sudden would it do this?

Electronics are electronics. Sometimes they go haywire. But, technology is a good thing, just dont tell that to the 12 valve guys.....
