DPF Delete and Emissions Tests

Those of you who have deleted your DPF and blocked off your EGR, how are you going about getting your emissions tests done? I know that plenty of people live in counties in TX that don't require emissions tests, but for those of you who do, what are you doing to get passed it? Are you keeping the DPF and reinstalling the day you go get your inspection or what?

I'm just curious because I'm about as fed up with all this CEL BS and am not wanting to get rid of my truck. I'll prolly wait until my warranty is up but who knows for certain. Any info would be helpful....thanks in advance.

I'm in the same boat as you. The truck is just awesome except for that emissions junk and the poor mileage because of it. I'm moving to a non-emissions county just so I don't have to deal with it anymore...

Are you sure they require it on diesel trucks? I don't know, just asking. I've heard they don't.

uhhhh, texas does not require emissions testing on diesel powered vehicles. some counties have emissions testing, but ONLY for gasoline powered cars, trucks etc..

That's what I thought. I live in Texas and know several inspectors and they never have looked at mine.

If they DO (and Harris Co, Travis Co, Bexar Co, etc will be the first to do so) start emissions testing diesels, you can either bolt the stuff back on once a year for the inspection or you can get a PO Box in a small town outside the county and get your inspection/registration there. Either way, no prollem...

Here in Va they only require emissions testing once every two years. New vehicles may even get an extra year or two of exemption on that before they need their first test. There are only a few counties here that require this and I happen to live in one of them close to DC. My sister lives in a very rural county with no testing as it's an agricultural area and that's where my truck, I mean I, and moving to.....
