I've got 11k miles on mine and it's been getting cel lights off and on for about a month now. I took it in for an oil change and asked the dealer to check the codes. They said it was showing a turbo boost pressure fault. Well, the trucks been in the shop for 2 days now and the rep says they're desooting the engine. I'm assuming it's the turbo and the egr that get clogged up. I should be getting it back tomorrow and I'll post the findings along with the codes they found.

Dan, it sounds like you're experiencing the P2262 code. Unless I missed in the thread it I'm surprised nobody has asked about cycling the key 3 times to get the codes. The dealer will likely desoot and/or drill and tap the turbo to clean it at which point it will probably fail again. In my opinion, the chances are extremely high you will end up with a new turbo after a few more trips to the dealer for this problem.

How do I know? See my sig...

Thanks Flattman,

I'm picking up the truck in a few and will discuss it with the dealer. I never noticed any difference in how the truck drove when it got the cel, did you? Does the new turbo fix the problem or is it just a bad design?

Well, picked up the truck after a 2 day service to "de-soot" the engine for turbo boost not detected (P2262). Truck ran great, then 5 hours later, another cel... Can't tell any difference on performance before of after the cel came on. Is this just a nuisance fault or is something eventually going to break? And how do you pull up codes by turning the ignition key??

Thanks,
Dan

I've heard that there is a new flash out for the 07.5's... AY flash. Have any of you experiencing the P2262 problems been receiving this update? I think that the new flash has something to do with the engine creating less soot. I'm experiencing the on again-off again cel. This last time, it stayed on for less than a day... maybe 3 starts and it was off. The dealer says that they can't do anything with it until the cel remains on and the code is active, so probably sometime later in the week.

I just got a check engine light on my 08 2500 (17000 miles). I cycled the key 3 times to view the fault code like I did no my 04 Dodge and it did nothing. How do I pull the codes on an 08?

I have the check engine light. The dealer has reset the code twice but it has returned. I tried the "cycle the key 3 times" and never receive a code. So I went an purchased a code reader. Sure enough it's the P2262. As of 06/25, I have had the AX Flash.

I just got the CEL a couple hours ago, I cycled the key to get the code and the CEL just flashed 10 times. What does that mean?

I have an 08 with 700 miles on it.

I have a question for all of the folks that are having check engine lights coming on and a soot problem.

Are you using any type of fuel additives. If so what kind.

No fuel addative for me but constant on and off "Soot" code. There really isn't a soot problem and you're wasting not only time but gas money driving to and from the dealer every time you get that code. There is a flaw in the overall system and it triggers that code, it will also untrigger after a few days and turn itself off.

I have 4350 on my 08, No light yet! I was at the dealer ship where my father works, and the factory rep for Dodge was there. I asked him if they have finally found a fix for these soot issues. He told me that if you drive the truck for long distances at 45mph or more and for longer than 40 minutes the truck will go into regen. Also no long idles, you should be alright. If you do a lot of stop and go slow driving or idle for long periods your going to have problems. He says there is a clean they dealer can do that takes about 9 hours to do, but is only a temp fix.

I have gotten these codes a couple times and I always just drive the truck a bit harder. That has made the lights and codes go away each time. My truck has not been to the dealer yet and if my procedure fixes the issue then I will continue doing it this way....

I've had my truck for 2 weeks and it's going in to have the turbo cleaned and drilled next week as soon as the parts come in. It has 1400 miles on it.

I've had p2509 and p2262 so far

I have an '07 3500 that the check engine light came on at 5900mi. Dealer says they are going to replace the turbo (code 2262). Haven't been too impressed with the truck compared to my '03.
Does anyone have trouble with the oil. after 500mi the engine oil looks like crap. It looks like it has 8000mi on it.
