Drove back from WI this past weekend... Truck drove great, with the quad race box on 2 I got 19.2-18.8 MPG through all the hills of VA and OH there and back. Didnt think that was too bad, driving between 65-78 the hole time.

But, it threw a CEL while I was up there and has not gone away, and keeps ringing every time I start it. Flipped the key forward 3 times, waited, and the odometer went right to DONE. So, how do I figure this out? Dont want to take it to the dealer, I dont feel like taking the box off unless there is no way to get the code. Truck has 25,000 miles on it... its a 2006, quadcab auto 4x4.... Need some help on this one guys!!

 

I got a hand scanner from Autozone. They run about $90 or so. Occasionally my truck would throw the air temp rationality in the Spring or fall. The CEL goes off after so many starts with no problems. Take about two days for me.

 

This has not gone off for 5+ days now, and keeps ringing like its occuring every start.... Id say 30+ starts now.

 

You could go to an Autozone or O'Rileys and they will hook up a scanner to see what the code is, you can even clear the code. You wouldn't have to take it to the dealer.
