CEL Issues
CEL Issues
Well just found yoru forums here. Looks to me like some very knowledgable individuals here and one is even a girl
Well I have a 2008 early build that has just had the CEL issue and flashed, then 02 cleaned, then replaced, now turbo cleaning and just waiting for th etruck to come back so the light will go on again
I don't think there has been any cure that keeps the warranty. Am I correct? I guess the easiest is to disconnect the egr and just live with the light. I need just one more repair and goes in for lemon law. so won't screw with it unless i lose my lemon law case.
So has anyone had this issue fixed when the turbo gets replaced?

Apparently there is a new style turbo they are putting on these trucks that won't soot up as quick. I've seen a few posts that guys had this done and their truck have been fine ever since. I cannot confirm this though...
I have gotten a CEL twice in the last 2 weeks.... when it happens, I start ragging on my truck. I leave it in 3rd and wind it up to around 2500-2800 rpm and let the e-brake slow me down, it seems to slow it down best around that speed. I usually do that 10 or so times and then raunch on it hard to the redline through 3,4,5, and to 6th. It will blow out the biggest cloud of grey smoke in every gear. (almost reminds me of the real diesel i used to own 5.9L) then I bring it home easy, cool her down, and after 5-6 starts the CEL goes away. I have yet to be able to pull a code off this truck with the key on/off X3 thing. It always says "system OK" also.
One of my buddies has a 07.5, and he pulled my truck on my trailer for a while, and did not have any problems for a week or so. Gotta work them to get all that crap out of there...
