Bully Dog Pup Opinions

The few guys here that's using the Power Pup for 6.7s, How is it
working out? I'm particularly interested in any improvements
on fuel milage. I do alot of highway traveling

I bought mine the other day but need the 18-033-07 update on mine
which I will have done Monday. The salesman I bought from
said his BDPP, on his 5.9, improved his milage about 4 mpg.
I'm skeptical although he sounded believible,,fwtw.

can't comment on the 6.7, but on my 5.9 if I run it on tow & drive it sensibly, I get .5-1 mpg better than stock empty & have seen as much as 1.5-2 mpg better towing approx 10K lb. trailer. I would have a VERY hard time beleiving 4 mpg though, sounds like a sales pitch to me

Yep, if he'd said 2-3mpg the red flag wouldn't have popped up.
I've already bought it, $475, so might regret it in the long run.

If I get 3 mpg better I'll be elated,,
4 mpg I'll have an organism.
0.5-1.0 I've wasted my $475

I know a guy with a 04 cummins with 37" tires with the crazy larry and he is getting about 28 mpg. For the 6.7 the edge didnt seem to change mine at all but I havent taken it off level 6. I am thinking about stacking the bully dog with it though to see how it works

GOTTA throw a flag on that call! No Way! Hand calculate it . Thats the only way to get any realistic idea of what actual fuel mileage is. The overheads are off from the factory. Add any kind of box, or programmer and they are off the charts wrong.

I seen 31mpg on a dually. Last magazine issue of something. U have to take off mirrors, duct tabe grill, headlights, airdam, front rims, bed seams, TURN OFF AC, cruise at 65 mph, DONT TOW ANYTHING OR YOU WILL OVERHEAT, THIS IS ALL STOCK CONFIG. Also fill up tires max psi's.

Well just an update I have sold 3-4 bdtd in the last 2 months and most of them are getting average of 30 miles per gallon. These are mostley older people that dont tow or hot rod around. They are set on crazy larry and there are 04 to 06 the 07s seemed only around 20 or so and the early 04 about they same. If you do not believe you I can give you at least 4 phone numbers you can call and ask these people. When you chip a truck you have the power so you are always wanting to use it which really kills your milage. Try easing up to speed keep at 1800 rpms or so. It depends on a lot of different things when I first was told that I was like no way in he!!

The BDDL throws the overhead out to lunch, I guarantee these people aren't hand calculating. Ask anyone over on the 3G Performance forum if 30mpg average is possible on a CR with the Crazy Larry (or any other programmer or program) and you'll see what I mean.

I've tried the Crazy Larry and mileage is no better than the Extreme or Performance tune, and that's just regular highway cruising, not hot rodding. I can get around 20-22 mpg hand calculated on the highway. That's about 2-3 mpg better than stock.

Jerry you can try the Pup and see how it works for you, or wait for the Smarty. I've read that Marco is getting big mileage increases on the 6.7.
