Bilstein's intstalled!

Just installed front and rear Bilstein shocks. The yellow shocks with the blue covers....

The last set of Bilstein's I've installed were on my 2004 chevy 2500HD gasser.

My major complaints with the Dodge are the major body sway, the lack of rebound.

Now driving over my rough driveway, my head doesn't bounce off the side window!

Awesome + highly recommended!

eshocks is were I got them. ~ 2-3 days max!

Next install is the rear Hellwig Sway bar!

Later
Keith

What is the difference in the 5100s and the HD yellow bodies? I have the 5100s and love them.

What do they do as far as improving the overall ride quality? I realize this is a 3/4 ton truck but it rides like a lumber wagon with solid steel rods for shock absorbers. Many times I feel like my head would hit the roof if I didn't have my seatbelt on.

I had 3 different Ford crew cab, short bed 4x4's and they rode like a limo compared to this thing. Will these shocks or anything else help improve this?

I called Bilstein. They said the 5100s are intended for aftermarket suspensions (i.e. lifts). They will ride a bit rougher than the HD yellow shocks which are designed for stock suspensions.

The front end is more planted in corners. The stock shocks rebound seemed too fast and gave the front end a very wobbly bounce feel.
With the Bilstein's the rebound is firmer, but not harsh. It controls the springs recoils(rebound) much better.
The stock rears were not as bad as my 2004 chevy 2500(They had NO rebound -- Seemed like a pogo stick). But now on dirt roads with accerlation/braking bumps, the rear does not kick out to the side. It just tracks straight.

Overall the ride is more controlled, not harsh. The ride is not as good Chevy was, but I hated the 6.0L gas mileage, lack of power(Stock), and noise once I installed a STS Turbo(Nice toy, but not for 4 hours pulling a trailer)
