O.k. heres some good talk about the 6.7. Got 5000 miles on mine. Done 1 oil change. Don't work the truck real hard, but do pull a 12' trailer wieghing about 2000 lb around town just about everyday. Also have a 20' boat that I pull 130 miles round trip about every other weekend. Have had no CEL. Truck is running flawless. I did regretfully take the silencer out, but put it back in and haven't had any problems there.(knock on wood) I love the truck. It has power to spare. The power of this engine is unbelieable. If they were to turn this engine loose without all the emissions crap, Ford and Chevy couldn't touch it. I'm gonna wait a while and probably get the Edge programer. For milage purposes.(yeh right) haha
I have seen that there are a few people having problems and I hate hearing of these problems.
I feel after reading of these problems that the fuel being used is a major problem. Everyone with the 6.7 needs to be very sure that the fuel they are useing is ULSD. I fuel up at the same pump 95% of the time so I know I'm getting the ULSD. LSD will not work in these engines. I have pulled away from more than 1 station that didn't have USLD. Look for the sticker on the pump. BE SURE! AND NO ADDITIVES! The emissions won't handle it. I say this only after reading of all the problems and reading my owners manual.

seems like the mpg is the same as my truck. i only get 15-16 mpg with or with out the chips and mostly highway. sounds like most like the 6.7 thanks for all your input.

Here it is, June traded a 2005, quad cab 5.9 for a 6.7 mega, mainley because my son is now mega and would not fit in the quad any more, July went on a 5000 mile trip towing a 12000lb? travel trailer fuel miliage was about the same as the 2005 towing same trailer. Oh, had the edge on the 2005 the 2007 has the same if not more power stock as the the 2005 juiced. And yes I love this new truck! Chricahua if you need more info I will be down there hunting soon.

Yep, it's old technology. You guys will never learn will ya? Don't buy a brand-new engine until all the "bugs" are worked out.

Did anyone stop and think that if nobody bought one then the bugs wouldn't get worked out? Nobody buys one, no problems to report.

Just about 6K on the truck now. Breaking it in like I did to the 07 5.9.
Mileage was bad...10 mpg city and 13 hwy. Hooked up to a 7700 pound trailer and then drove all over the rpm range in 5th and 6th [auto] for 1200 plus miles. Averaged 11.2 on the return trip loaded. I had about 200 miles to do empty and I saw a full 2 mpg increase empty after the load. City is still weak but better in the 11.5-12 mpg range so all in all its getting better. No CEL so far.
Also, I filled with LSD by mistake on the factory tank and thought oh S$^! but I never noticed anything. Truck ran fine. So far overhead has always said 'system ok'.

So far so good and the power is nicer then the 07 5.9 and both have been run completely stock. Kind of a shocker if anyone knew what the other trucks had done to them.

Sure hope I can make my '03 last a long time. Not sure I could take a mileage hit THAT bad!

Power sounds peachy keen however!

Let someone else, not of this forum, be the lab rat....

Don't see the need for a larger engine in the 25/35 series. Ok, in the 45/55

Running great with 7200 on the clock. Getting the oil changed this week, but no problems since the reflash. Mileage is 15 city and 18 hwy @ 75-80. Glad I made the change from Powerstroke!

Well I have gone from a 99 24v to a 04 duramax lb7 to a 07 Cummins 6.7. Each time I have been impressed.

24 V was strong all around.
Duramax was strong up top, but low end tq was not as good. Fun factor was out of sight.
6.7 has power at all levels. New 6 speed auto is a blessing. Exhaust break is wonderful.
My 6.7 is on turbo #2 due to P2262 code several times. So far all is well. One PCM flash and thats it. Fuel mileage is not great, but I do have more cubes. All I want is a great power adder for more getty up when I want to show off.

I traded a 650 to 700 hp duramax for my 6.7 and would do it again given the opportunity.

60k on the clock. No problems other than EGR/emissions. Did not want to be a lab rat but out of necessity, business-wise, had to get the new beast when I did. Did NOT want another 48re, really didn't want the 6.7l either but that's how it goes.
Now, I absolutely love the 6 spd auto and the 6.7l performs great, at a cost though - poor fuel mileage.
My DPF is full, with NO indication from any sensors, it blackens the quarter panel in 1 days running and is blowin' alot of smoke. Dealer's gonna replace on their dime as this has been an on-going problem. Hopefully this will increase the miles between EGR valve cleanings and possibly a fuel mileage increase. The EGR has been stuck open for at least half of the 60k miles on the truck so I imagine that's why the DPF filled up faster. Don't know why I haven't got any system messages on the overhead.
Going in to dealer next week - hope this is the CURE!!

Almost 14,000 on mine I love it much better than my 04 rower. 16 mpg 65 mph highway. 13.5 to 14 over 65mph on highway and highway town mix. Never had an dpf issue(knock on wood) Had two egr valves replaced found it is hitting soundproofing. I drive alot miles on the highway and tow regularly under 90 miles. My guess the reason for no dpf issues. Get you one and giver hell.

13.5 mpg over 65. My 5.9 is getting about 18 for a 4-5 mpg difference. I was
hoping the 6.7 was in the 16s' at 75mph?

I wonder what the 3500/2500 4 x 4 Gas Hemi mpg is coming in at.

Very rarely am I able to hold to 65 mph the entire time. I did it last thursday again except for the last thirty or forty miles. Kinda like a horse turning back to the barn. I probably kicked her up to about 75 mph so if that scues my results that bad the mileage is just not near what it used to be. So if I would have held for the last bit would it have been that much difference I dont think so. My 5.9 with chip and intake, exhaust would get 19 to 20. Yes it was hard to take at first but the overall truck and performance override that for me.
