Love my 6.7. Milage is about 2 mpg lower than my 5.9 but its still new so time will tell. @ 2500 miles its been in the shop twice for the latest flash to be done. It tows better ,slows better, sounds better and even smells better. Id do it over again.

Towing 12000lbs at 70mph getting hand calc. 9.5mpg

Driving at 60 no load highway driving around 16.5mpg.

Driving at 75 no load highway driving getting 14.2 mpg.

Overall driving 70 percent hwy. 30 percent in town at an average speed of 65mph most of the time I am getting 14.5 to 15.

7000 miles and going in next week for the latest flash. My truck was built in April 2007 and had the flash that came out in June.

LOVE THE TRUCK AND THAT IS COMING FROM AN EX SUPERDUTY OWNER.

Hope this helps....

Love mine too! Some people (I won't mention other cummins' engine folk ) don't like change!

If you get one, enjoy-

Just like most things in life, dealing with a new engine built to new emssions certification specs is - well, a risk. Looking at your sig it seems you like to add devices for enhanced performance. These also represent a risk, but with the 6.7L it's much more of a risk, overall. So I suppose at the bottom of this is the question - how much risk are you comfortable with? If you like modifications and enjoy your present truck, it may may the most sense to stick with it. If you really need something newer, and don't mind the risk, a 6.7L may be a good choice.

As for me, a car payment is too much of a risk in and of itself. I don't like being "tied" to a truck. Therefore, I keep on driving a stock 12-valve. 336k miles, and very little risk.

I previously owned a 2003 RAM 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 Sport CTD (305/555) and NV5600........a great truck even when I sold it at 50.9k miles.

I love the MegaCab......and the 6.7L....and the new six speed auto.....and the exhaust brake. I've had the REV B. reflash and one EGR valve. I'm at 5005 miles and all is well. I expect the fuel economy to keep creeping up; first two tanks was 14.4, 14.6, and I have hit 15.9 a few times.....all hand calculated (the overhead readings just attempt to make you feel good).

Seems as if there's almost more pissing & moaning between the 5.9 & 6.7 guys as there are automatic vs. manual guys, or 12V vs 24V VP44 vs 24V HPCR guys.

I rely on objective owner experience discussion.

If it wasn't for this informative and knowledgeable site, many would be walking around saying "..they all do it".

It's not a matter of which new generation I own. Eventually, I will own all of them. Reliably, lining things out as quickly as possible determines when and where I spend my money.

Personally, I have always had a hard time accepting the "teething problems" excuse.

6.7 is awesome. Makes the 5.9 old technology. MPG is a little worse, but thats whats happens with the bigger displacement. only problems mostly are with dpf. Exhaust systems TB Should be out in a month. Independent injectors, big turbo. New trannys. If you wanna race or like HP, get the6.7. If you want reliablity with no mods, get the.5.9 and let the 6.7 sit around for another year. But most flashes has fixed problems, most at least. NO PROBLEMS HERE SO FAR. most problems are from city driven only, wrong fuel, construction workers!!!!

Those mileage numbers don't look too bad given the bump in hp, torque and emissions. My 5.9 is getting only slightly better.

The new tranny looks like a winner to me. I'm curious if the transfer case was
upgraded too?

I liked my truck at first, until the turbo went out at 2500mi. Since then the exhaust has been gone through twice and turbo was replaced again at 7500 mi. Now I am taking it back again for the 8 time since I bought it on July 3. The tech suspects another blown turbo at only 10000 mi. I am on the highway 90% of the time hauling hay or cattle. In my opinion this truck is junk. I have yet to get better than 12 mpg.

Ouch, it sucks to hear that. I wasnt to badly hurt with mpg. I haul 20k everyday **** near and overhead says 9.5. I will get to 250-280 miles before fill up and it costs 85 bucks with currents rates to top it off. Gas light hasnt even come on yet but im down to 1/8 tank. Good news is I just checked my tires and front was at 45psi and rears were at 50psi. Well, i put the fronts to 60psi and rears at 80psi so hopefully i get a few extra miles. Im doing a 1200 mile trip that I will be gone for a few days, keep yall posted. So far, no problems, not even a cel!! Everyone talks so bad about there 6.7's on these forums, we need some more people talking GREAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTT about them.

Im not to famailar with km's. What is that in miles?? On highway, my overhead never goes above 18. I do know that I can almost squeeze 600 miles to the tank almost all highway. And still have 3 gallons left over. My ford 6.0 only had a 29 gallon fuel tank but couldnt get more then 475 on highway and no more then 400 in the city. I think my dodge usually does 13.9 overhead in city, I usually fill up around the 450 mark I beleive, but I dont do city that much, so I dont know if thats accurate
