6.7 issues

I have a 2007 6.7 I just put a FASS system on it not to long ago. My problem is, that I was hoping to fix was, it starts fine every morning no issues but after it gets warm and I drive it around and turn it off it cranks a bit then fires. Also I put out tons of black smoke. Then the other day after being late to work I ran out of fuel. We put pry 30 gallons in and still no start. Had it towed to dodge and discovered metal and springs in my fuel filter. So we put a new FASS on it. Still no start. After now getting it towed to another shop still can’t find the problem. Dodge thought it was injectors and wanted a killing for new injector hints why it was towed again. Now it’s running fine they said. They are test driving it tomorrow to see about the hard start issue. My question is, it also has full dpf and egr delete on it. I bought the truck at an auction and didn’t get any kind of tuner with it. Do you think that is my problem? I was thinking about getting a chip and tuner for it. Or could it be injectors? The truck has 220000 miles on it and as far as I know is still stock injectors and cp3.

Thanks.

The truck has to have some kind of tune on it, or it wouldn't run without the EGR & exhaust deletes.

I bought this truck at auction and have no idea what tuner is on it so I am having them wipe clean whatever is on there and start over with a new tuner/chip.
