6.7 compared to the 5.9
I just figured the new motor was designed to run on it so there should be no long term problems from running it. I am not saying that the 5.9 would have any problems but it may be more likley to. Like I said for me its just one less thing to worry about as I plan on keeping this truck for many years to come.
h8pvmnt;not to idle more then a hour.
h8pvmnt;drive it like a teenager
WOOHOO!! Well no wander why i don't have troubles!!
I don't think he was talking about THAT much idle time, i could be wrong though

ULSF Availability
Any feedback regarding availabilty of ULSF outside of CA ? State law in CA mandates only ULSF can be sold at fuel stations. I travel considerably across the US. I currently have an 01 5.9 RAM.
I understand use of the low sulfur fuel will void the warranty, including the expense to repair the damage the low sulfur fuel will cause in the new 6.7 ---------- I assume the old low sulfur fuel will clog the particulate filter ?

You are correct sir. Mostly ULSD here in NC. I use B-20, for the lubrication. Cummins says OK, Dodge says only B5, it is same price and I cannot tell difference in power or mileage, so I just fill it up.
It sounds like all the EPA emission components on the 6.7 are the only reason peope would consider the 5.9 better...is that a correct statement? Not that this is realistic, but if we compare the actual 5.9 engine to the 6.7 engine (not factoring in the emissions stuff), the 6.7 seems like it would win hands down.
I would trade my 4x2 5.9 in for a 4x4 6.7 in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the newly added emission equipment. The pro is the new transmission, the con is the emission gear. ...and doing anything with the emission equipment is illegal and more importantly voids the warranty...

I'm with ya on all the emissions equipment. I like my straight piped 5.9 and i'm sure that setup on a 6.7 would sound killer.
I'm surprised the dealer hasn't said anything about my exhaust the last couple time it's been in there. I figured they'd have a hay day about it..
Anyone else run into dealer probs. on exhaust/intake/gauges?? Just curious..

Driving around with sled deck and rat box in my 97 with a 270 hp plate and an airaid intake the 97 will run circles around my 08. The 97 is a 5 speed and the 08 is a 6 speed auto. I'm comparing 60 mph to 90 mph.
