6.7 block heater

Pardon my ignorance, but I guess diesel's are supposed to have block heaters when the weather gets cold. Now, I've lived all of my life in warm weather climates such as Florida and Southern California (where I was born and raised). I moved to Denver about 2 weeks ago and the weather has been incredibly cold. One morning it was around -13 degrees and my truck didn't want to turn over (after my own personal initial shock to the senses that I've never experienced). I started asking around and apparently I need a heater plug. What is it? Where does it go? Can I install it myself? HELP!!! ITS "BLEEPING" COLD AND MY TRUCK DOESN"T LIKE IT EITHER!!!

Welcome to the frozen state of Co. dude, It's not cold until the penguins start migrating in at the end of Jan or so.
.
Pop your truck hood, on the passenger side right a above the bumper is where the cord will be if it come with one..
If it did not all you need is a cord, (Heater is installed next to the top of the Oil Filter) buy it from a Cummins dealer
and not a Dodge dealer as it will save you about $50 if you do. Be sure to run some anti-gel ..
I prefer the white bottled Power Service because of it's availability..

A timer for the heater set to come on 3 hrs prior to starting it will save you some bucks on the electric bill..

You have the heater, you may not have the cord.

heater factory installed, if you dont have cord its easy, look for a black screw on cap next to oil filter, unscrew cap , screw in new cord and route cord to front of truck, but watch where you route it. you don't want it rubbing oil filter or anything hot. I just installed mine on saturday and it only took me five min. cost $40.00 bucks. and worth it. ( get a programable timer )
