Glad to hear all you 6.7 guys are happy. I would of taken the plung but just didn't want to do it. Put the money in my tranny and holding on to this one for a while. I only put about 10,000 miles a year on it and it makes no sense to get ride of this one. The 6 speed auto / exhaust brake combo is nice.

I got a cab and chassis 6.7 in Jan of 2007. It's got 12,xxx miles and not a problem to date. The power is good, it runs even with my old man's 04.5 with an EZ. The mileage could be better. That's the only complaint. I had to have a new work truck, and the last cab and chassis 5.9 Dodge made was in 2002. So the 6.7 was the only choice, but I don't regret it.

I bought my '07 5.9, installed a PacBrake shortly thereafter, and now I have a truck that has lots of performance potential, but still has an antiquated tranny that shifts hard and gets worse mileage than a lot of 6.7's I've read about. I get 11-12mpg, every tank. My last 5.9 with the same tires got 15-17, 18 if I babied it.
I would much rather have the smooth shifting 6-speed, factory e-brake, and no desire to add mods because the 6-speed, 350hp and 4.10 gears would be enough for me.

There great trucks until the warranty runs out. PF is very expensive $2500 if it becomes 100% plugged, so watch your overhead console. Too bad they don't have life time warranty.

Had an 01 5.9 auto 2500 Q/C 4X4 SB. Ran good, decent mileage, rode bad. No comparison with the 6.7 which is more maneuverable, much more powerful, quieter, rides better. Only downside is lower mpg. After market will take care of this in due time. 6.7 will tow things that would have the 01 transmission puking.

6.7 is the shizzle
Got it Nov 26, now I have 10,770 miles on it. I tow about half the time and this is the best towing machine I have ever driven. My average mpg's are around 12.5. Empty it gets over 13.5 mixed and around 16 highway. It gets better mpg's than the 01 6 speed it replaced. During the day I live in my truck and this is by far the best truck I have ever owned. Most of my buddies that tow are buying 6.7's now, should have never let them tow with this one.

With the 5.9 or 6.7 thread posted in the 6.7 portion of of the forum these results are...Tainted!!!
No really though. I cant wait til the 6.7 is fully fixed and and ready for the longer haul without fear of failure. I really like the new tranny and the exhaust brake is the shizznat....But the thought of my employees breaking down is scary enough in my 5.9....Scarier yet in the 6.7. I send my two employees out for about 25,000 miles of travel across Texas and up and down the west coast over the summer as we paint/stripe parking lots. Just cant afford any down time during the short painting season I'm very jealous of Y'alls 6 speed autos and the Jake brake. The 6.7 is destined to be the king of the big threes diesels....It may just need one more model year?

the 6.7 is a great truck for someone who wants to leave it alone and just have a good dependable truck to drive, but for those who are into performance mods the 5.9 is best because you can't even hardly touch the 6.7 or do anything to it because of all the new senors they have on them now

Oh, I forgot, in those 122k miles I've only done the routine maintenance, oil, filters, tranny filters/change and have only replaced 1 set of tires and the shocks. Still on the original brakes. NOT too shabby. My 04.5 had U-joints, front wheel hubs and the rear axle gears replaced/repaired by this many miles.

Never owned a 5.9, but I really love the 6.7. No issues yet, 2600 on the clock, getting 19 hwy and 15 city. Kids love it, I love it, Fiance loves it, and I love it or did I already say that.

was considering buying another pickup for the wife. I was going to get a 6.7 to see how it worked out,and give her the 06 5.9. opted instead for a 08 Durango with the hemi. she really loves it,and to be honest so do I. of course it can't tow as much as the ram. its really heavy duty, comfortable, and of course the lifetime warranty makes it even more easier to take. I sure wanted to try the 6.7. maybe in the future. bye the way the durango gets as good of mileage as the 5.9 unloaded.
