27k miles

Been sitting around for the last couple of weeks so not much mileage being racked up or money being made. However on this last trip I just turned over 27k on the clock and noticed that my fuel mileage came up a bit. 650 mile return trip with 14K lbs. only used 52 gallons versus the normal 55 gallons. Fighting a headwind all the way home. Yeah!! Need that!!
I also noticed while heading out empty that there was a period for about a 1/2 hour where my overhead, only use that for a quick reference, dropped from the usual avg. 14.5 m.p.g. to a steady 11 m.p.g. @ the same speed. I dropped down to 70 m.p.h. with no change in m.p.g. Regen?? That sucks. I thought you weren't supposed to notice a passive regen??
One other note. I always use a diesel additive with each fill up. With the 04.5 I would switch between Howes and Power Service and usually overdose. With the 07 I have just been using Howes as it is a bit cheaper and I'm buying more fuel due to the lousy fuel mileage. Well, this time I put the P/S in and I can tell ya there was a noticeable difference in how the truck ran. Not trying to start a brand war, but I'm going to bite the bullet and just use the more expensive P/S exclusively for my own personal testing. Since I drive the same route all the time, the only variables being different weight & wind resistance, it should be easy to figure out which one the 6.7l likes best. BTW The 04.5 liked the P/S better.

I have noticed that the passive regens knock my mileage about 3 tenths of a mile per gal....and will take about 25-30 miles to do a complete cycle... These things regen all the time too, probably every 60-80 miles...
