2010 air filter warning

Hey guys I have my best friend that has an 2010 and 80% of the time he gets on the throttle he gets a service air filter light. There's no code thrown. He's had it to the dealer twice and they say it's fixed but less then 1/2 mile he can get it to do it.
So has anyone had this happen and if so did you get the cure?
Thanks in advanced, He still wishes they didn't steal and total his 05.

Well this is what we found out. He replaced his stock one with a checker brand air filter STP I believe. So he bought a oem and guess what trouble went away.

Same thing happened to me at about 2500 miles on my new 2010. Came on and stayed on until I shut the truck off and then hasn't come on since. Strange???
