Thumbs up 2008 2500 laramie 4x4 deisel

a friend of mine got this brand spankin new and he is having trouble with idleing time he told me this if he idels it for short or long periods of time ie :warm ups in cold temps it get's fouled up and he has to take it to dodge dealer to get repaired they told him to not idle it ,that all the emmissions crap is causing the trouble any fixs out there, any help I can pass along to him would be great thanks in advance and have a great day.

The more recent reflashes help out on this problem. Most times in cold weather its the O2 sensors out of span and cause DTC's to be set. Even before I went Blacktec, I never had cold weather idling problems.

I had the PTO high idle system enabled so that when it is very cold mine can be idled up to 2000 rpm and this eliminates a lot of this problem. 1200 is too low in -20 to -45 degree weather to keep the heat in and I have a cat tarp over the entire rad for heat retention.

Run the exhaust brake all the time to help it warm up and keep the turbo from sticking. Its helped with mine...
