2007 6.7 Emissions systems problems?
For those of you who have a 2007.5 to 2012 6.7, how many have had problems with the Emissions systems? Like the DPF or EGR systems. I am looking at at buying 1 of 2 different 2007 Ram 3500's. One is the 5.9 with 165K miles, and one is the 6.7 with 145K miles. I would like to know in the real world how many problems I can expect from a 6.7. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Nelson

My truck is a 2007.5 6.7 and the dpf crapped out at about 200,000 km with no warning and left my son stranded in the middle of nowhere right at Christmas. Since I deleted the dpf I have had no problems and a noticeable improvement in fuel mileage. Around the same time, my son had a 2007 5.9 that died due to overheating of one cylinder. He spent $10 grand on a rebuilt engine that only lasted a year.

My trucks in my sig line and had the same scenario as above.
Egr valve stuck open and clogged the dpf at ~58k miles. Stranded me in the desert in July but got lucky with some advice and was able to get it to regen and finished my trip.
Dealer later cleaned the egr valve and had second event. Dealer replaced egr valve and cracked dpf. I read a crap load of info on the systems and unplugged the egr valve with no further issues at 83k miles.
Personally, since I'm in a smog test area I think I would have been happier with a 5.9 but that's just my opinion. I like my truck, I just don't like all the emisions crap that cangive you fits.
Not much of an issue in a no smog check area (wink-wink) but a pita here. And on that note, I'm finally doing the deletes next month after my required smog test .
