2007 6.7 6spd auto fuel pressure gage?????
2007 6.7 6spd auto fuel pressure gage?????
Is it necessary to install a gage to monitor the fuel pressure from the fuel filter to the high pressure pump?
Where would the best place to hook up a gage if necessary?
thanks
I only use this truck less than 2000 miles a year for hunting and occasional taking a calf to market.

Necessary? I don't think so, not with your limited mileage and as such, limited risk.
Its a nice thing to watch if you're putting high mileage on the truck and filling up constantly at new or different stations. In that case you're at high risk of plugging the filter and starving the pump.
There are several kits available that either mount on the pump inlet or hose between the filter and pump. I like the idea of adding a fitting in the hose for the sensor. Just make sure there's no debris left from cutting it left inside.
Another option is a low pressure alarm light. The sensor is added at the hose fitting on the pump and a light mounted in the dash. It is set to come on when the supply pressure drops below 5 psi. I believe this costs around $60. You'd have to check which gauge setup you might want to compare prices.
But then again, your risk is low. I do about 8k a year on mine and feel I'm at a low risk also and haven't done either installation as of yet. I am considering the alarm one in the future though. (Gotta put something on the xmas list)
