Radiator Cap

My setup is a 2007 6.7 4x4 quad cab. Engine is all stock

Today, I ran a small sprint on the freeway because road rage got the best of me and I raced this **** mini-van that cut me off on the freeway and then started to drive slow. I changed lanes to pass and as I was doing it, the mini van sped up. Needless to say, I gunned it.

Anyway, I pulled up into the grocery store to pick up a few things and noticed that when I came back to my truck, there was a small puddle underneath my engine, but I noticed that it wasn't where the air conditioning condensation would collect. It was more toward the front. I popped the hood and noticed that the hose connecting to the radiator fill cap was leaking. I followed the hose and also noted that it led to the bottom of the coolant reservoir.

Is this normal? Should I get the hose replaced or should I just go get a hose clamp and tighten it around the fitting? Help?

In the first pic, you can see that the green arrow points to the hose fitting that was leaking.

In the second pic, you can see where some of the coolant collected (on top of the air filter housing). It's circled in green.

Thanks.

I was losing about a quart of coolant a month and could not figure out where it was going. Put a tie wrap on that hose and problem solved.

Thanks all. I did just that. I went to the AutoZone that was about a mile away from my house and bought the hose clamp(s). AutoZone only sells clamps in packs of 4 so I went ahead and bought them. Less than 5 minutes of effort and I think she's good. After driving the truck on a couple of errends, I popped the hood and inspected the hose. there's still a bit of dampness that seems to be collecting around the mouth of the hose, but it doesn't look like anything is escaping in the amount that it was before the hose clamp was installed. Thanks for the "no-brainer" solution. I don't know what I'd do without this Forum.

another thing you could do is cut off about an inch of the hose and then reinstall it and put the clamp on
