2007 2500 with 6.7L Clutch question
I've got a buddy that has a 2007 4x4, 6.7L with a six speed. His clutch has taken a dump and he's just looking for a factory replacement.....that he can get tomorrow so he can get back to the jobsite on monday. He talked with a local parts house and they said, is it a 12-1/2" clutch or a 13" clutch? He called me, told him I would suspect the 12-1/2" was on the 5.9 and the 13" was on the 6.7. Sounded good until I went to Napa's site and they said the 13" was either the 5.9 or the 6.7 and the 12-1/2" is either the 5.9 or the 6.7.
What in the heck???? Dodge could not decide what the heck clutch to use?? Anybody got some info so I can let my buddy know in the morning so he can get back out on the job? He's self employed like me so a broken down truck in the driveway is money lost. I know he could call the dealer....if they were open on sunday but that's a long way in to find out you have the wrong clutch and an hour drive to any place that has the clutches in stock.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

I have no idea which clutch, and Dodge certainly isn't the only manufacturer which used different parts in trucks. Since the clutch is gone, and it has to come out anyway, why not go ahead and pull it, and measure it?

I think that's what he might do or wait til tomorrow til the dealer opens. But for me personally I'd rather have the parts in hand, take apart, replace and put together. Taking apart, searching for the needle in the haystack that may or may not be in a warehouse in Nashville then finding out...oops, it's not really on the shelf but the 'puter said it was.....well you get the picture. 1 hour up, 1 hour back after taking apart, then replace and put back together makes for a really, really long day. Not my truck so not really my problem already did my $800 clutch a few weeks ago but was trying to help him determine which he had so he could just grab it and go.
