100k miles in 9 months. Guess I'm the warranty station NOW!! Considering everything, and what I've put the beast thru, it has performed well. No real problems except for my little buddy the CEL light. I've had to replace some bulbs, wish the CEL bulb would burn out!! No performance issues, except for the poor fuel mileage. Replaced the tires @ 78k miles and the shocks @ 80k miles. Everything else has been maintenance only, fluids and filters. Ooops, forgot, one of the intercooler hoses came loose when it was new and had to be realigned and tightened. Still can't pass the tailpipe test though, it does blow alot of smoke under acceleration.
Forgot the premature EGR valve cleaning - 3x as I was regularly using fuel additives. Since I stopped using the additives @ 30k miles I haven't had any EGR codes or problems.
Mostly Power Service and some Howes. After the 3rd EGR cleaning the dealer advised me to not use additives so I stopped. Of course that was in the warmer weather too. My purpose in using the additives was for greater lubricity & cetane boost. I would get a little better fuel mileage with the additives, plus peace of mind increasing the lubricity of the fuel bought. So the last 70k some miles I haven't used any additives AND I haven't had any EGR codes or problems. I'm a little concerned about gelling running in the 5* cold weather without additives, but everything has been OK so far.

Looks like Dodge will be set once they get all the CELs (not all but in a few trucks) to stay off.

You will never pass an emissions test if you have any black smoke coming out. Your dpf has failed.
Welcome to the club. I've never had any EGR problems, but, I also have never used any fuel additives. Glad to see the pickups can go the distance with very few problems. My tailpipe is still clean though. Over 106k now.

No emission testing for diesels here YET. No codes for a failed DPF. Have tried to get the dealer to replace the DPF, but with no codes it's a no-go. They keep telling me that I need to get a software update for excessive soot which includes the tech "driving" my truck for approx. 45 minutes. I really don't have the time for that, busy right now, nor do I want someone with no responsibility to my truck, beating on it for 45 minutes up & down the highway. Especially now, with it having over 100k miles and NO warranty.
what kind of oil,filters did u use?any maintenance advice? and what kind of work u did with it?
i bought mine on october last year and i'm now at 40k. no issues so far and i hope by the end of the year to be over 100k.

I have a transport business primarily hauling rv's & boats. Have access to a couple of trailers so we have done some single cars and motorcylces. At this point it's whatever I can get to keep the truck moving and paying the bills.

i do the same ,hauling enclosed cars and up until recently i used the dealers oil change program.My other maintenance programs are pretty much the same ,like yours.On my last oil change i started using amsoil which i think is best.Now the truck manual says to change synthetic oil just like normal oil? Is that correct since amsoil is for like 20kmiles? What do u guys think?

My brother in law doesn't put miles on quite that fast, but he did go over a 100k in his 05 in about 16 months. When I asked him if he had any problems with the tranny or engine he said no. I then asked how often he changed the tranny fluid and fuel filter. He said "never, I just drive them and then trade and get a new one around 120k." The only thing he did was change the oil every 10k or so. His 07 now has about 60k and he observes the same do nothing approach.
Don't forget the crankcase vent filter @ 60k miles. I thought it was a little thing like the PCV valves on a gasser and was going to do it myself but couldn't find it. It's a big honkin' filter under the valve cover - almost looks like a tranny filter. It's supposed to be changed out @ 60k miles according to the manual. I missed that one until I got the message on the overhead - Performance Service Alert.
The 6spd Auto has 2 filters. 1 regular type and a screw on. Definitely want to stay on top of the tranny maint. especially towing the weight that I do.

Due to the limited history of 1. new engine technology, 2. ultra low sulfur diesel fuel, and 3. oil additive limitations, we do not recommend extending oil drain intervals on 2007 and newer diesel engines with our DEO, 15W40 Premium Diesel Oil.

I guess it is your call. Spending twice as much for oil, or taking a chance and going twice as long and maybe plugging up your DPF. I'm changing my oil every 10k.
