I have an 08 3500 dually QC and about 6500 km on it. It has already been worked hard towing max gvw through B.C. mountains for 2000 kms and got great fuel economy with power to spare. The exhaust break was excellent. No problems yet. No flashes and strictly stock.

What did they do in 08 ????

I got my 2007 6.7 in September 2007. I have 40,000 miles on it, but I have been in the shop nine times for various "CEL" malfunctions and most are emissions related. It is in now for a new ERG and two O2 sensors. Does it get any better ? I darn sure hope so because I get tired of going to the Dodge service department.

From what I've been reading, it seems to me that most of the 08's are doin' just fine compared to the 07's. There are always exceptions though.

Knock on wood. Bought new in Feb 07. I have 20,000 miles on my 6.7. About 85% of that is with my GN attached and half of that is loaded (5 to 16K). I get about 10 loaded and 13 w/ trailer and 17mpg at 63mph w/out. I wish the fuel mileage was better, but what a powerful truck.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their posts. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet but I am feeling a little better about the 08's.

3500 miles on my 08 6.7, 2500. The towing power is unbeatable. I tow a 7000 lb. camp trl and a two place atv trl behind it. My lates mpg, (towing the above) was 13.1, over a 137 mile trip from Riggins, Idaho to Payette, Id. That was driving at 55 mph.

Believe it or not the Dmax is as bad as the 6.4L on fuel, the 6.7L is the least of all evils IMO.

I sure hope so

I have an 07 6.7 that has been to service NINE times in 40,000 miles. All nine times the issue was emmissions related. The ninth visit was for an EGR replacement and replace two O2 sensors. When the mechanic test drove the truck, he got a brand new CEL related to "exhaust temperature". I guess that he will be replacing at least two of the three sensors. He tells me that Dodge has apparently changed exhaust sensors because they have new part numbers....I guess there is a good side to this.....problems every 5,000 miles gets you to the service department for the oil and filter change !!!!
My mechanic says "Dodge will fix it", and they have spent a lot of money on the truck that they received a lot of my money for, but when will these problems be corrected. I wish they would have "got it right" before releasing the vehicle for sale and I would be spending less time in a Dodge supplied rental and more time in MY truck.
