truck's stock with 40k on the clock.

i rarely use the 4wd. just to back into the ditch to load the 4 wheeler... so i don't rut the grass....

it won't hit the detent in 4HI, no matter how hard i pull on the lever (it's not the electro-**** version). it'll actually go into 4HI, but it will kick itself back out if i let go of the lever.

goes into neutral, and 4LO perfect.

any ideas?

Do you put then tranny in neutral when shifting the transfer case? I would also take a look at the linkages to make sure nothing is bent.

 

Are you engaging 4WD while the truck is in motion or when it is stationary ?

tried with trans in neutral- no luck...

tried both in motion (~5mph) and sitting still no luck..

i'll have to look at the linkage.. wheni get back to the states..
